There are many ways to be actively involved in developing the culture of St Joseph's Parish community. There are ministries, committees, groups and organizations all needing members with many different gifts and skill sets. All parishioners are encouraged to join one or more of these organizations. Liturgical Ministries:
Altar Servers assist the Pastor in the liturgy of the Mass.
Extraordinary Ministers assist the Pastor in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass.
Lectors serve the parish as readers of sacred scripture during Mass and special events as needed by the pastor.
Give voice to your faith while serving the greater parish community by becoming a member of our outstanding adult choir.
Groups:
The Council of Catholic Women is dedicated to serving the Church, our community and those less fortunate around the world. Consider becoming and active member if you are looking to be with women of similar interest, make new friends, share new experiences and use your special skills and talents in service to the church and the larger community.
The Sr. Travel Group serves the local community by offering travel and pilgrimage opportunities for our parishioners and the public. Check out the 2023 listing of events. In addition to some great entertaining shows, there are fabulous multi-day excursions to Memphis (May 2023), sunny Cape Cod, beautiful Maine and more!
Fundraising:
St. Joseph's semi-annual Craft, Vendor and Food Fairs in March and November provide an opportunituy for local vendors to showcase their beautiful creations. Through these craft fairs, St Joseph Parish provides our parishioners and the community a place to find unique and beautiful gifts for friends and family.
St. Joseph's Italian Kitchen supports all parish fundraisers and many other events in the parish throughout the year. If you like to cook or would like to learn how to make some Italian specialities, this is the group for you. There are many different roles you can take by helping out this fundraising group.
Committees:
The Parish Council is a mandated Diocesan statute and the main advisory board to the pastor. Their objective is to help the pastor develop a plan to implement his short-term and long-term vision for the direction of the parish.
The Parish Finance Council is a mandated body having an advisory and consultative role with the pastor in providing oversight of the financial management of the parish, with respect to the administration of all material goods belonging to the parish, and all fiscal matters of the parish.
